Welcome
Computer Graphics deals with all aspects of three-dimensional graphical
objects utilizing computer science, mathematics, and other technologies.
Graphical objects can represent anything from real-world objects,
hypothetical objects, data, etc.
Computer Graphics is the science of modeling, simulating, visualizing,
and interacting with these objects and complete virtual environments
built from graphical objects.
There are many challenges, in particular
- achieving realism in both simulation and visualization,
- handling complex and huge data sets,
- achieving real-time response of the overall system, and
- intuitive, non-intrusive, and effecient interaction.
The Computer Graphics Clausthal (CGC) group conducts research in all of
these areas by developing novel algorithms and implementing them as
software packages on state-of-the-art hardware. Some of them are also
implemented in hardware.
